This ADU Academy will feature new information about Tiny Homes on Wheels, modular ADUs, and multifamily ADUs—hot topics in SoCal markets.

For returning Academy grads, there will be a LobbyCon track for more intensive and interactive dialog. Attendees will get a discount to attend TinyFest with other ADU Academy grads on Saturday.

California has expanded ADU legislation in 2025 to address expanded options for multifamily ADUs, amnesty ADUs, and condoized ADUs.

History of ADU Academy

March 2025 will be our 8th ADU Academy. ADU Academy began in Portland, Oregon in June, 2019 as the ADU movement began its exponential growth curve in major cities along the West Coast. Aside from an unfortunate break during COVID, we’ve offered them regularly in emerging ADU markets, namely:

The ADU Academy Director and Coordinator keep close tabs on what states are making big moves in ADU legislation.

We’re planning our next stop in Denver in late Spring to early Summer of 2025!

In 2024, Colorado, Arizona, Montana, and Massachusetts all passed statewide legislation allowing ADUs and removing barriers to permitting and building in urban areas where housing is needed most.

The ADU Academy strives to the premier educational event for professionals and practitioners at all levels of ADU development from Policy Makers to Planners to Architects, Builders, Lenders, and Real Estate professionals. We understand that ADU development doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Our goal to educate and inspire you to attend the ADU Academy to CONNECT. LEARN.
