Doors open at 8 am for check-in. Please arrive by 8:15 am, we will begin our Welcome session promptly at 8:30 am in the the Bayview Room. Coffee and light fare will be available.
ADU SPECIALIST DESIGNATION AND CEs
The day's curriculum will prepare you to pass the ADU Specialist exam. Leave the conference with an ADU Specialist designation proven to set you apart as your client's and community's ADU resource! The ADU Academy is also approved for 6 CEs through CA DRE (#6390) for Real Estate Professionals. The exam will be offered in digital format, please bring a laptop or tablet to complete the exam. The exam is require for both the ADU Specialist Designation as well as continuing education credit.
ADU Academy has been designed with you in mind. We have formatted the day to ensure you gain exposure to all of the Academy’s core curriculum.
The curriculum is split into four sections, Real Estate, Design, Finance and Appraisal, and Build. Each section will be one hour. The day includes plenty of time to network with fellow attendees that are practicing in the local and national ADU industry.

Attending all core curriculum sessions is required for continuing education.
For ADU Academy Alumni, there is the opportunity to participate in Lobby Con, series of short, deep dives into more advanced ADU topics. This Lobby Con will consist of the following topics:

The exam to obtain an ADU Specialist designation will be available online immediately following the Academy for Academy participants. Please bring a laptop or tablet to complete the exam. We will be encouraging you to take the exam at 5pm. The exam will have 34 multiple choice questions. You must get a 70% passing grade. The exam is open book, open note. If you do not pass initial attempt, you may retest later.
Once you’ve obtained the ADU Specialist designation, you get an awesome ADU Specialist gift Kol has designed for this occasion. These will only be available to those who pass the ADU Specialist exam.

In the afternoon, we’ll be doing deeper dive breakout sessions. This is the chance to interact with focused groups around specific detailed elements of those topic areas that will be determined by the interests of the registered attendees prior to the Academy. These are the breakout session topics.

Post Academy Social Event
The social event will be held from 5:30 pm - 7 pm at the Aquarius Bar and Grille, a lovely 10 minute walk from Marina Village Conference Center.
This portion of the event is also open to industry professionals that did not attend the ADU Academy but wish to network!

There are abundant hotel options near Marina Village Conference Center, the closest being The Dana. We stayed at The Dana in 2023 and highly recommend!
